Patti Smith – Metropolitan Museum of Art, Friday 12/2/11

We are pleased to be ticketed to attend an educational and entertaining annual get together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Patti Smith and her daughter Jesse Smith, along with Lenny Kaye and Michael Campbell perform a potpourri of musical instruments and songs, which are Intermixed with poetry and Patti Smith’s uncanny sense of humor and honesty.

In past Met events we have been witnesses to Robert Frank‘s photography exhibit, The Americans in 2009. Then in 2010 the Khubilai Khan’s exhibit. Both these exhibitions served as the backdrop to Patti Smith’s connection with poetry, music, writing and the arts. We’ve become much more cognizant of the arts as a result of these events.
