Joe Sample – Stage One, Fairfield, Ct. April 5th, 2011

Can’t wait to hear the smooth sounds of jazz pianist, composer and arranger, Joe Sample.

Our favorite recording of his is Carmel. Joe Sample’s marvelous recording was our inspiration to visit Carmel, California in 1979. We can still picture the luxurious 17 Mile Drive journey, with all its vista points, as we listened to Carmel on cassette in the rental car. 😉

Seeing Joe Sample in an intimate setting like Stage One in Fairfield will be very special indeed.

Here is the scanned image of the CD cover from Joe Sample’s Soul Shadows that he featured prominently on Tuesday night. He was so articulate on the piano. It was a real treat to say hello to Joe Sample after the show, shake his hand and have him autograph Soul Shadows for us.
